Essential Residential Services

Housing is just the first step to recovery and self-sufficiency. Century Oasis Residential Services provides critical support for our residents, including those who have experienced homelessness or have special needs, such as mental or physical health conditions or substance use disorders.

We take an integrated approach to our residential services, which are voluntary. The Oasis team helps residents maintain their housing stability, improve their health, increase their financial stability, enhance their skills, advance their education, and find meaningful activities in their lives.

Proven Social Impact

Highly trained and committed staff provide individualized case management support to help residents residing in affordable and permanent supportive housing to maintain housing stability and achieve goals. This includes Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS) for those residents with a diagnosis of mental illness or other special needs.  All case managers benefit from ongoing supervision and support provided by licensed clinical social workers. Supervisors are also available to provide direct clinical services to resident as necessary.

Residents and staff are supported by a dedicated behavioral health specialist housed at Century Villages at Cabrillo to address and coordinate issues in a way to help de-escalate crisis situations, and provide a trained response so that stressful situations do not escalate into mental health crises or worse. The behavioral health specialist is available to the entire Century Villages at Cabrillo community as needed, including after regular business hours.

Staff and partners provide financial literacy training, assistance with benefits enrollment, job assistance, and more to help residents achieve financial stability.

Youth and family services are designed to foster stronger parenting skills and stability among children and youth. This includes parenting classes and support, Oasis after-school programs for “Littles” in K-5th grades, and the We Are B.O.L.D teen program for youth in 6th –12th grades, intergenerational and family activities, and a fun and free Oasis summer camp.

A licensed occupational therapist works collaboratively with case managers to meet resident needs. While case management provides comprehensive services, our OT focuses on increasing functional independence whether it is promoting healthy eating and nutrition or modifying the home to decrease the risk of falls. This collaboration gives us greater insight into not only some of the challenges but also the strengths that our residents have, so that we can provide more personalized services. Our OT supervises a team of interns who provide individual and group support to residents.

Oasis organizes monthly community meetings, resident council meetings, resident activities, holiday celebrations, and youth programming. Quarterly community-wide events such as an annual back-to-school event, a health fair, and a winter holiday celebration.

Oasis staff, partners, and interns provide robust health and wellness programming such as walking groups, cooking groups, yoga, journaling, and more. These activities promote health and wellness and encourage community building.
