Welcoming New Board Members: Robert Abbasi and Jim Mather
Century Housing is pleased to welcome Robert Abbasi and Jim Mather to our Board of Directors.
Mr. Robert Abbasi, founder and president of RTI Properties, Inc., brings over 40 years of experience in real estate investment, development, and finance. Under his leadership, RTI has managed a diverse portfolio of multifamily, retail, office, and manufactured home properties and has financed numerous low-to-moderate-income housing projects, including Homekey and Opportunity Zone developments. He also serves as Vice Chairman of Beach Front Property Management, overseeing a portfolio of nearly 13,000 multifamily units and other properties. Mr. Abbasi’s other contributions to the real estate community include serving as a board member of a business bank and sharing his insights at industry forums. “I’m committed to affordable housing because it drives meaningful results across other areas such as education, economic development, and health,” he stated.
Mr. Jim Mather brings 40 years in community development and affordable housing, with a career spanning leadership in community development banking, nonprofit housing development, and CDFIs such as Housing Trust Silicon Valley. As Chief Investment Officer at BRIDGE Housing, he led the issuance of a $100 million general obligation bond—the first of its kind for a nonprofit developer—and secured $1.6 billion in debt and $900 million in LIHTC equity for affordable projects. Mr. Mather has also served on boards such as Merritt Community Capital, Community Housing Works, and the San Jose Environmental Innovation Center, and advised public agencies, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to housing equity. “My dedication to affordable housing is rooted in a profound belief that society would be much improved if everyone had a safe, affordable place to call home,” he shared.
We are honored to have these accomplished leaders join our mission to create affordable housing solutions. Learn more at Century Housing’s Board of Directors page.
