Winterfest at CVC: A Season of Joy and Connection

This winter, Century Villages at Cabrillo (CVC) came alive with laughter, music, and holiday magic as residents gathered for our 13th Annual Winterfest. Thanks to the generosity of our community and lead support from Port of Long Beach, the event welcomed nearly 200 residents for a day filled with warmth, celebration, and meaningful connection. From children picking out new toys to families sharing cocoa and smiles, Winterfest was a reminder that joy and belonging are an essential part of any community.
Throughout the day, residents of all ages took part in hands-on activities designed to spark creativity and togetherness. Kids and parents made ornaments and holiday cards, played games, posed for photos with Santa and the Grinch, and gathered around books and crafts in the Berry Book Nook. The energy carried through basketball games, music, and shared treats—more than 2,000 mini donuts and hundreds of hot chocolates later, Winterfest felt less like an event and more like a neighborhood celebration built on care and connection.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made Winterfest possible, including our dedicated volunteers and partners, and especially those who donated to CVC’s Toy Store and Merry Market. Because of this generosity, every child at CVC received a toy, and adult residents were able to “shop” for holiday gifts at no cost (many for the first time in years). These moments of dignity and joy have a lasting impact. If you’re inspired by Winterfest, we invite you to consider making a donation to CVC. Your support helps ensure that no one in our community is forgotten and that hope, comfort, and celebration continue well beyond the holiday season.
Thank you to our sponsors, donors, and awesome volunteers from Marathon and National Charity League!
