Celebrating 30 Years of Century Housing

Members of the Century community gathered on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Audrey Irmas Pavilion in Los Angeles to celebrate three decades of impact in affordable housing. The evening brought together longtime partners, community leaders, board members, and staff to honor a legacy that began with the Century Freeway Housing Program and continues today through our work financing, building, and operating affordable homes across California.
We were joined by Mayor Rex Richardson of Long Beach, who also serves as Chair of the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency, along with members of Century’s Board of Directors including Kristina Olson (who serves as Chair), Louise Oliver, Christopher David Ruiz Cameron, and Jim Mather (who is serving as Acting President & CEO). Together, their remarks reflected on how far Century has come and reaffirmed our commitment to advancing affordable housing opportunities across the state.
The celebration also featured the premiere of Celebrating 30 Years of Century Housing, a short film highlighting the people and partnerships that have shaped Century’s mission and the communities transformed through this work.
As we mark this milestone, we extend heartfelt thanks to our partners, clients, staff, board members, and residents for being part of Century’s story. The evening was not only a look back at the past 30 years but a reminder of the shared purpose that will guide us into the future.
